There were plenty of such moments.

I won’t describe the day and where it took us, because I think the photos below tell a  better story than I could with words. I was honoured to have been a part of it, and it was a mark of how much fun I had being there, that when I left Oskars at the end of what was a long day, I felt renewed: full of energy and inspiration, and itching to get back home to my own beautiful wife. Weddings can do that to you.

The ceremony was a simple and beautiful affair, which took place under a copse of pandanus trees near the beach. Afterwards, we went down to the sand and took some photos, and then went to the Cabarita Headland for some more photos with the ‘lovedub’ combi van they had hired for the day. Stacey and Charlie were wonderful subjects – very easygoing and lots of fun.

When we had finished we went to Mantra on Salt Beach for the reception, where I took a few photos and then left them to enjoy the rest of their evening. There was one last surprise before I left: a Scottish Bagpiper, who led the couple in to a standing ovation.

When the vows were spoken and the deeds signed, we took some photos nearby, and then headed off to Fingal for a late afternoon photo shoot. We didn’t have much time, but we got some lovely shots, and a good time was had by all. Afterwards we returned to the Tweed Heads Golf Club for the reception, a moving and emotional evening. The entertainment for the night was the exquisite band The Lamplights, who entertained the guests long into the night.

A lovely wedding, a beautiful bride, and a happy and handsome groom. Thank you for having me guys, and I hope you enjoy the sample photos – many more to come!

Their wedding was a beautiful affair, and a little bit more complicated than most. Youstina’s family hails from Egypt and follows a different faith to Nicson’s, so there were two ceremonies on the day and two blessings – one at the St Mina and St Anthony Coptic Orthodox Church, the other at the Chapel of St Alban at TSS. Each nuptial had its own character, but they were both beautiful and warm and joyous.

Youstina looked absolutely stunning throughout the day, and Nicson was handsome and assured. After the ceremonies we went to the glades for a photo shoot, and then retired to the reception room for the end of day formalities, which was decorated by Cinderella, of Sugar and Spice Events.

I wish Youstina and Nicson all the best for the future – a long and happy life together awaits!

Melissa looked beautiful throughout the day, and Maik scrubbed up pretty well himself! Together they were a picture, as the following photos attest.

Chanel arrived at the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage, to the surprise and delight of the guests and the groom. The nuptials took place on the leafy banks of Currumbin Creek. The setting could not have been more beautiful, and the bride looked absolutely stunning.

After the newly-weds sealed their vows, we took some photos in the nearby park, and then went for a drive to get some more shots not far away. It was a sunny afternoon, and the photo session was a breeze; Chanel and James were very easy-going and comfortable, and made great subjects.

Afterwards, the partying began. I left at about 9pm, but had a feeling the fun was only just starting when I left. Good times!

Lana got ready at Circle on Cavil, in a gorgeous suite with stunning views over the Gold Coast. Her make-up artist was Donna Sullivan, who did an amazing job, as the images below attest. Justin got ready at a nearby hotel, and myself and my assistant went between them both to capture the special moments that lead up to the ceremony, and also to do a couple of little interviews with them for the video. It’s always a beautiful time, full of retrospection, nerves and anticipation, and all of these emotions mixed up together lend themselves to wonderful photos.

The next stop of the day was the Guardian Angels Church at Southport, for the ceremony. It was a grand and solemn affair, and was very moving. When the nuptials were finished we took some photos outside the church and then moved on to a couple of different photo locations for the formal shots. Lana and Justin were wonderfully patient and were great subjects, and we managed to get some great images.

Finally we retired to Palazzo Versace for the reception, which was grand and opulent. We filmed the speeches, the cake-cutting and the bridal waltz, and then we left the newly weds and guests to enjoy the rest of the night.

All in all it was grand and beautiful wedding, and I was honoured to be a part of it. Hopefully the following sample pictures and video do it the justice it deserves.
