Hailee & Shaun – Byron Bay
Hailee and Shaun got hitched in Byron Bay. It was an outdoor ceremony, with the nuptials taking place under a stand of Norfolk Pines and the bright March sun. Hailee was radiant, always smiling and full of energy, from the morning through to last drinks, and Shaun took everything in his stride, her perfect foil it seemed to me; calm, collected and funny.
It was a great wedding, a beautiful place to shoot and a happy handsome couple. Thank you for having me guys, and all the best for the future. Below is a sneak preview of the 750 photos on the way!
Kristy & Dave – Ballina
A few weeks back I helped my sister, from Two Birds Wedding Photography, shoot the wedding of Kristy and Dave down at Ballina. I knew Kristy from high school, as well as half the guests, so it was a fun shoot for me. I was also playing second fiddle to another photographer, which was a refreshing change from ordering people around and stressing about overall creative direction! My role was to shoot backup shots and also to shoot video. It’s never an easy thing to juggle, but I think I managed to get some good secondary shots and a nice little video for Kristy and her new husband to remind them of their big day.
The ceremony took place in a church in Ballina, and for the photo shoot we went to a laundromat in the nearby main street, and then to the beach for some more traditional photos.
I’ve also been working on some new post processing techniques to try and capture more of a Kodak and Ilford film look in my images – not an easy thing to do with digital equipment.

Snejana & Steve – Kingscliff
Wedding photography can be a tricky business sometimes, but there are some things that make the job much easier, like shooting a couple as beautiful and handsome as Snejana and Steve! It’s hard to go wrong when you’ve got model good-looks on the other end of the lens, and even harder when the occasion is such a happy one!
This wedding was very intimate, with a handful of guests, an entertaining celebrant and delicious food from the caterers at Bellini restaurant. The vows were the most moving I’ve ever witnessed, and I was honored to be able to document the day.
So to Steve and Snejana: congratulations on such a wonderful wedding, and all the best for the future! Enjoy the sample photos – many more to come!
Sandy & Lou – Ewingsdale, Byron Bay
I shot this wedding with my sister, who runs her own boutique studio down in Byron, called Two Birds Wedding Photography. We concentrated on stills, but I also shot some film of the day’s highlights.
I loved the wedding. Lou and Sandy were wonderful people, warm and friendly and big-hearted. The ceremony took place at Ewingsdale Hall, just outside of Byron, a quaint wooden building full of character. Unfortunately the weather didn’t smile on us, but we still managed to get some lovely photos after the vows. Then there were speeches and music – it seemed like half the guests and both the familes knew how to sing and play instruments, which added a touch of magic to what was a beautiful evening…
