Gemma & Nolan – Cabarita

A few weeks ago my little sister got married. These are some of the photos from her wedding to Nolan Angel, my new brother-in-law. My other sister Lee also helped out with some of the photos. There was probably more celebrating than photographing going on, but we still got some nice shots. It was a great day, and there was hardly a dry eye at the ceremony and the reception. There were many highlights, including an impromptu traditional Korean Paebek ceremony, but for mine the best part was Nolan taking the stage with his band the Genes and then serenading Gemma with a romantic song he’d written for her, which had all the girls gushing. Big brother was impressed!

Congratulations guys, and I’ll probably catch you this weekend!

Rebecca & Phil – Kingscliff

Rebecca and Phil flew in from Darwin for their wedding. It involved, as most weddings do, a great deal of planning and work, but they both pulled it off in style, and the wedding ran smoothly from beginning to end. Both of them work in the military, and I suppose this had something to do with their good organisational skills; I was also very impressed by their friendliness and decency to everyone involved, not just friends and family, but to the people they had hired to work at their wedding. I was given my own seat with the guests and was thanked for my work, which was very nice. Even more impressive was when Phil invited the cooks out from the kitchen during the speeches to thank them, with an ovation, for their food, which had the two men beaming with pride. They were courteous, friendly and big-hearted throughout.

The wedding itself went beautifully, helped in no small part by the elegant, stately bride, who had the whole beach at Kingscliff enthralled as she walked down from the dunes to her waiting husband-to-be. The weather was sunny and the wind was light; the guests were upbeat and the mood was festive. All the ingredients were right, and the nuptials didn’t disappoint. Afterwards, we went to nearby Cabarita for some photos and then returned (a tad late) for the reception, which was both fun and formal, as all good receptions should be. Following the bridal dance I bid the newly-weds good-bye, and wished them (as I wish them now) a long and happy life together.

I hope you enjoy the sample photos, guys!

Jodie & Colin – Cabarita Beach

Jodie & Colin got married on Cabarita beach, on a blazing summer day. They both got ready at nearby Mantra, and returned to the Salt Bar for their reception.

It was as beach weddings should be – bright, merry and informal. Jodie looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the wooden path to the beach, and evidently a great many guests thought the same thing, because a wave washed through the crowd as she approached and most people didn’t even notice until they were ankle-deep in salt water. Luckily the ocean retreated again as she approached, and the nuptials proceeded without a hitch.

After the vows were spoken and rings exchanged, we went for a walk to the headland, the bridal party frequently resting for refreshments, which had the added benefit of adding extra joviality to proceedings. When we had finished with the photos, we returned to the reception, with dusk fast on our heels.

The rest of the night went by quickly. I had the chance to take a few more photos by the pool, and then I bid the newly-weds goodbye, to enjoy the rest of the night, and their lives, together.

Congratulations, and I hope you enjoy the sneak peak below!

Alicia & Jarrod – Kingscliff

A few weeks back I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Alicia and Jarrod, which took place at Mantra on Salt Beach, Kingscliff.

It was a beautiful day, and the bride looked absolutely stunning as she walked through the gardens towards the waiting guests and her soon-to-be husband. The ceremony was simple and elegant, and when all was done the couple sealed their vows with a kiss.

Afterwards, we drove to nearby Cabarita for some location shots. The beach was picture-perfect, and the bridal party looked amazing – all in all, a good result for a photographer!

When we finished out photo shoot we returned to Mantra for some more photos, before we left the couple to enjoy their reception and the last few hours of the first day of their married life.

Enjoy the sample photos, guys – video highlights coming soon!

Abbie & Nick – Kingscliff, Tweed Valley

A few weeks back I was fortunate enough to shoot the wedding of Abbie and Nick. The ceremony took place at Mantra on Salt Beach, at Kingscliff in the Tweed Valley. It had been raining all week, but it cleared up on the day of the wedding, giving us bright blue skies and plenty of sunshine. After the ceremony, I took the bride and groom down to the beach for a few shots, then over to Cabarita for a few more. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel for the reception. The bride and groom made a beautiful couple, and they made my job as a photographer very easy! Congratulations guys!
