Camilla & Dean – Tweed heads

A few months back I was invited to shoot the wedding of Camilla and Dean, who were married in a quaint ceremony at Tweed heads. I started out the day at Palm Beach, documenting the preparation of both the boys and girls as they went about their business of getting ready for the nuptials. Then it was off to Tweed Heads, where the couple tied the knot outside, under the leafy branches of several large fig trees and a glorious blue sky.

When the vows were spoken and the deeds signed, we took some photos nearby, and then headed off to Fingal for a late afternoon photo shoot. We didn’t have much time, but we got some lovely shots, and a good time was had by all. Afterwards we returned to the Tweed Heads Golf Club for the reception, a moving and emotional evening. The entertainment for the night was the exquisite band The Lamplights, who entertained the guests long into the night.

A lovely wedding, a beautiful bride, and a happy and handsome groom. Thank you for having me guys, and I hope you enjoy the sample photos – many more to come!

Kristy & Dave – Ballina

A few weeks back I helped my sister, from Two Birds Wedding Photography, shoot the wedding of Kristy and Dave down at Ballina. I knew Kristy from high school, as well as half the guests, so it was a fun shoot for me. I was also playing second fiddle to another photographer, which was a refreshing change from ordering people around and stressing about overall creative direction! My role was to shoot backup shots and also to shoot video. It’s never an easy thing to juggle, but I think I managed to get some good secondary shots and a nice little video for Kristy and her new husband to remind them of their big day.

The ceremony took place in a church in Ballina, and for the photo shoot we went to a laundromat in the nearby main street, and then to the beach for some more traditional photos.

I’ve also been working on some new post processing techniques to try and capture more of a Kodak and Ilford film look in my images – not an easy thing to do with digital equipment.
