Lana and Justin – Palazzo Versace

A little while ago I had the great pleasure to be invited to photograph and video the wedding of Lana and Justin. I knew this was going to be a special wedding from the start, and it always helps when the bride and groom are as good looking as these two!

Lana got ready at Circle on Cavil, in a gorgeous suite with stunning views over the Gold Coast. Her make-up artist was Donna Sullivan, who did an amazing job, as the images below attest. Justin got ready at a nearby hotel, and myself and my assistant went between them both to capture the special moments that lead up to the ceremony, and also to do a couple of little interviews with them for the video. It’s always a beautiful time, full of retrospection, nerves and anticipation, and all of these emotions mixed up together lend themselves to wonderful photos.

The next stop of the day was the Guardian Angels Church at Southport, for the ceremony. It was a grand and solemn affair, and was very moving. When the nuptials were finished we took some photos outside the church and then moved on to a couple of different photo locations for the formal shots. Lana and Justin were wonderfully patient and were great subjects, and we managed to get some great images.

Finally we retired to Palazzo Versace for the reception, which was grand and opulent. We filmed the speeches, the cake-cutting and the bridal waltz, and then we left the newly weds and guests to enjoy the rest of the night.

All in all it was grand and beautiful wedding, and I was honoured to be a part of it. Hopefully the following sample pictures and video do it the justice it deserves.

Kath & Marcin – Versace, Gold Coast

A few weeks back I photographed the wedding of Kath and Marcin. It always makes my job easier when I have a handsome couple to photograph, so I was naturally very keen to be a part of this one.

I started out at Kath’s place, photographing her and her bridesmaids as they got ready for the big day. Next we moved on to Our Lady of Victory Church at Bowen Hills for the ceremony, which was a grand and beautiful affair. We took a few photos in the church after the nuptials, and some more outside with family and friends.

Our next port of call was Emerald Lakes for a photo shoot, but a few problems presented themselves, not least an enormous storm that struck just before we arrived. There was lightning, torrential rain and gale-force winds. Luckily, I’d brought a nice umbrella along to use as a prop, and I’d also scouted an indoor shoot location in case we had bad weather. It was supposed to be a backup, but it turned out to be a great backdrop.

Kath and Marcin remained upbeat despite the weather, and they both made wonderful subjects. Kath was a picture of elegance, and Marcin was strikingly handsome – I really couldn’t have asked for a better couple to shoot.

After our stormy shoot we pressed on to Palazzo Versace, where the reception was held.

Overall, it was a wonderful wedding, grand and elegant and beautiful, and the bride and groom looked absolutely amazing.

Thank you for having me as your photographer guys, and I wish you the very best for the future.

I hope you enjoy the sample photos – many more to come!
