Greg & Rebecca – Kingscliff

Greg and Rebecca got hitched at Kingscliff, a beautiful part of the world not far south of the NSW/QLD border. I grew up on the Tweed and love getting back down there for shoots. There’s something magical about the whole area, and it’s a wonderful place to take photographs.

Unfortunately on this day the weather frowned on us, and we had a day of drizzle and wind. I’ve heard it said that rain forebodes a happy marriage though, so if this is the case Greg and Rebecca will enjoy a long and happy life together.

Rebecca got ready down at Casuarina, and Greg prepared at another location not far away; the ceremony took place at the Kingscliff Bowls Club, indoors to avoid the squall, but with a beautiful glass walls as a backdrop and a view that gave out over the Pacific. After the nuptials, and in between rain-bursts, we went outside for some photos, and then we returned to the club for the reception, which was a happy, friendly affair.

It was a wonderful wedding, and I was honoured to be a part of it. Thank you for having me Rebecca and Greg, and I hope you enjoy the small sample of photos!

Kim & Damien – Fingal

Occasionally I shoot a wedding where, from a photographic point of view, everything just clicks. The light, the guests, the location, me, my equipment, but most of all, the bride and groom.

This was one of those weddings.

I’d been lucky enough to do an engagement shoot with Kim and Damien previously, so we all knew what to expect. Kim and Damien are both relaxed and easy-going, and I knew the photos would come out beautifully. Kim’s smile seemed to light up the whole day, and Damien took everything in his stride.

This wedding was about close friends and close family, and two people who had fallen head over heels in love. I was honoured to have been invited to photograph it.

So here are a few of photos of the day.

Enjoy :) ~ Many more to come.

Alicia & Jarrod – Kingscliff

A few weeks back I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Alicia and Jarrod, which took place at Mantra on Salt Beach, Kingscliff.

It was a beautiful day, and the bride looked absolutely stunning as she walked through the gardens towards the waiting guests and her soon-to-be husband. The ceremony was simple and elegant, and when all was done the couple sealed their vows with a kiss.

Afterwards, we drove to nearby Cabarita for some location shots. The beach was picture-perfect, and the bridal party looked amazing – all in all, a good result for a photographer!

When we finished out photo shoot we returned to Mantra for some more photos, before we left the couple to enjoy their reception and the last few hours of the first day of their married life.

Enjoy the sample photos, guys – video highlights coming soon!

Lana & Chad – Bangalow

Lana & Chad got married on the 30th of September, in the beautiful surrounds of Bangalow, northern NSW. Lana got ready at Pearces Creek, near Eltham, and then travelled to Saint Kevin’s Catholic Church in Bangalow for the ceremony. Afterwards we took some photos at the Bangalow show-grounds, and then we moved on to the nearby Bangalow Hall for the reception.

I love shooting in Northern NSW, where I grew up, and I jump at any opportunity to get down there. The region is stunning and the people are friendly and down-to-earth. This wedding was no different on all those counts, and I’m honoured that Lana and Chad chose me for their photographer.

An amazing couple, delightful to shoot and to be around, with wonderful family and friends. A wish you guys all the best in the future, and I hope you like the sample photos. Many more to come!

Lucy & James – Burleigh Heads

I was lucky to have recently shot the wedding of Lucy and James Parsons. I love these weddings: happy, beautiful couple, outdoor ceremony, lovely location and great family and friends. Lucy got ready at Peppers, Broadbeach and the ceremony took place down the road at Mick Shamburg Park, North Burleigh. The weather threatened all morning, and we almost had to shift it to the nearby North Burleigh Surf Club. Thankfully a storm passed us by to the south, the rain cleared up, and we were blessed with soft light and a cool sea-breeze – perfect for photos! The ceremony went off without a hitch, and afterwards we went for a walk up to take some pictures. Lucy had an idea to shoot at a nearby garage, and it turned out to be a stroke of genius; we managed to get a great vintage photo in front of the old doors. Afterwards we ambled to the nearby reception at the surf club, where a night of merriment ensued!

Great wedding – congratulations!

Sandy & Lou – Ewingsdale, Byron Bay

I shot this wedding with my sister, who runs her own boutique studio down in Byron, called Two Birds Wedding Photography. We concentrated on stills, but I also shot some film of the day’s highlights.

I loved the wedding. Lou and Sandy were wonderful people, warm and friendly and big-hearted. The ceremony took place at Ewingsdale Hall, just outside of Byron, a quaint wooden building full of character. Unfortunately the weather didn’t smile on us, but we still managed to get some lovely photos after the vows. Then there were speeches and music – it seemed like half the guests and both the familes knew how to sing and play instruments, which added a touch of magic to what was a beautiful evening…
